The open-air museum has a collection of ancient tools. You can also try your hand in the varied chores in a farmstead and see the ancient technique in action. Every spring and autumn the museum has Sowing and Harvest Festivities with demonstrations of the ancient field works and crafts, also involving the visitors.
For relaxation Ausekļu Watermill offers also countryside sauna, on second floor also is a place to sleep.There are camping places and sauna in the territory of the museum.

Bārbele sulphuric spring
In the 18th century there was a healing house for the Duke of Courland next to Barbele Sulphur Spring, but it was destroyed. The water of the sulphur spring can still be scooped and tried.
