The place and oak of the birthplace of General K. Berķis (1884-1942). Krišjānis Berķis was the general of the Latvian Army. Commander of Latvian riflemen, fought in the First World War and in the Latvian freedom fights. Knight of Lāčplēsis War and Three Star Orders. Commander of the Latvian Armed Forces, Minister of War of Latvia.
