Iecava municipality

The municipality borders with Bauska, Vecumnieki, Ozolnieki, Olaine and Baldone municipalities. The municipal territory consists of several villages: Iecava, Zālīte, Zorģi, Rosme, Dzimtmisa, Dimzukalns and Audrupi. The administrative centre of the municipality is Iecava, located 45 km from Rīga, 21 km from Bauska, 30 km from Jelgava. The total area is 311,6 km2 , inhabited 9548 people (01.01.2011).

Main objects:

Dzimtmisa  Manor , Mini zoo “Dobuļi”  , Iecava Roman Catolic Church,  Cannons in the centre of Iecava , Iecava Lutheran Church, Dievdārziņš , the complex of Iecava Manor,   Iecava Landscape Gardens,   Iecavas sports and history Museum.

There are also other monuments with heritage value in the district. Grienvalde Watermill, Dzelzamurs’s Hunting Palace, farm Bērziņi and other objects that can be visited in the company of a guide, booking by telephone in advance: +371 26639727 (Iecava vicinity), +371 29481801 (objects with heritage value), +371 26320336 (Bērziņi).
