The municipality borders withIecava, Vecumnieki, Rundāle, Ozolnieki municipalitiesand the Republic of Lithuania. The municipal territory consists ofthe town of Bauska, Brunava, Ceraukste, Code, Dāviņi, Gailīši, Īslīce, Mežotne and Vecsaule parishes, the administrative centre of the municipality isBauska, located68 km from Rīga, 62 km from Jelgava and 19 km from the Latvia-Lithuania border. The total area of the municipality is 786.7 km², 6.14 km² whereof is the area of the town of Bauska.By the number of inhabitants, Bauska municipality is one of the biggest in the country 28,153 inhabitants (01.01.2010).
